As the cast and crew of Rajini Murugan were being welcomed onto the stage at the audio and teaser launch of Rajini Murugan, the loudest applause went to veteran actor Rajkiran, who looked his modest best in a white veshti and shirt. However, Sivakarthikeyan managed to grab back the limelight soon enough with his wit.
“In Sivakartikeyan films, the best chemistry is between him and Soori,” the anchor pointed out, and Siva countered it saying that the best chemistry in Rajini Murugan is between the music composer Imman and lyricist Yugabarathi. The songs though, have the ‘heard it already in Paandiyanaadu‘ feel to them.
Siva’s uncanny imitation of actor Manobala evoked quite a few laughs. The actor went on to emphasize that Rajini Murugan was all about entertainment, and had no ‘message’ in it.
Actress Keerthi Suresh, the Malayalee actress, seemed to impress everyone with her great hold over Tamil. She looked gorgeous too.
All actors, who took to the stage, recounted how they had to fight and plead with editor Vivek Harshan to not edit out any of their portions. Soori went to the extent of stating that he had a picture of Vivek Harshan at home, which he worshipped everyday! The National-Award winning editor was all smiles, enjoying the jests and jokes.
Imman said that he was more than delighted that the audio of the film was releasing on his father’s birthday. The team even celebrated the day by cutting a cake for him on the stage. He hinted that Keerthi Suresh might become a singer someday. The birthday song the crew sang suggested otherwise.
The cast and crew stated that they were in full support of their producer director Lingusamy, who is undergoing certain financial trouble at the moment. Lingusamy said, “Uttama Villian may come and go, but nothing will stop me from making movies.” He even broke the news that Imman would be composing music for his next venture Sandakozhi-2. He said that he has a great team behind him which never fails to support him, and that Rajini Murugan will be a winner.
By the way, did you know that it was Arya’s cameo in Oru Kal Oru Kannadi which inspired the title ‘Rajini Murugan‘?
Rajini Murugan stars Sivakarthikeyan, Keerthi Suresh, Soori, Rajkiran and Samuthirakani. The film has music by D.Imman, cinematography by Balasubramanian and editing by Vivek Harshan.
The crew gleefully posed for our cameras and we managed to click a number of gorgeous snaps.
