Unlike other audio launches, the Rum Audio launch was truly just about the music director! The guests at the event made it a point to praise the film’s composer Anirudh Ravichander.
While actor Naren revealed that he’d agreed to be a part of the film only because of Anirudh, lyricist Vivek congratulated him on his Cold Water remix that was released just ahead of Diwali.
Celebrities at the launch included choreographer Gayathri Raghuram, actor Amjad Khan, comedian Vivekh, Producer KE Gnanavel Raja among others. The film’s female lead was gorgeous in a flowy printed top and boots while the man of the moment – Anirudh showed off a classy plum toned silk shirt.
Anirudh said that he has never watched horror films, and was quite apprehensive when he knew that Rum is a horror film. The audio CD of the film was delivered on stage by a helicam and what looked like a mummy doll hanging from it.
Scary stuff, indeed.
Rum, which means judgement (theerpu in Tamil), is directed by debutant director Sai. Director Sai has stated that the title has no connection to any alcoholic beverage.
The film’s lead actor Hrishikesh and Anirudh are cousins in real life and have previously worked together in Velaiyilla Pattadhari.
