The only people happy about Theri not having early morning shows were probably our photographers. They reached Albert theatre at Egmore around 6 AM and waited for the festivities to begin. Like any other star release, there was the usual fare – song and dance, big bright banners, paal abishegams. A ‘First Day First Show’ is more of an experience than just an event. Here’s what we captured on what fans call the ‘Theri’fic Thursday.
And when the gates finally opened..
The crowds did not spare the road outside the theatre.
This old man made the most of the moment, selling buttermilk as respite from the scorching sun.
There was abundant ‘Kuthu’ music, thanks to this DJ here..
And there was the usual wasting of milk in the name of hero worship.
There was the unusual ‘Beer- Abishegam’ too
Happy fans, drunk fans, shirtless fans…we spotted all of em!
This tiny one had the best view of them all!
