Actor Swastika Mukherjee joined the cast of Hindi thriller web series Escaype Live starring Siddharth and Shweta Tripathi on Wednesday.
Produced by One Life Studios, the series is a ‘tech-thriller’ and follows the lives of five Indians who use a popular live-streaming app to achieve overnight fame and fortune. Producer and director Siddharth Kumar Tewary will be co-directing the series along with Abhishek Sengupta.
On Wednesday, Mukherjee announced her joining and posted a picture along with actor Plabita Borthakur who will be also featuring in the series.
It was announced in October that Siddharth will be appearing in the web series, marking his second digital project after Netflix’s dystopian series Leila. Soon, it was announced that Tripathi will be also joining the cast.

Known prominently in West Bengal, Mukherjee has appeared in Hindi titles, including the 2015 film Detective Byomkesh Bakshy, 2020 film Dil Bechara, both co-starring late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, and Amazon Prime Video web series Paatal Lok. She is also part of the upcoming web series Black Widows, co-starring Shamita Shetty and Mona Singh.
Escaype Live marks Mukherjee’s fifth project in the Hindi industry.
Mukherjee has also starred in lead roles in a number of web series streaming on regional OTT platform Hoichoi owned by SVF Entertainment.
Mukherjee has also worked in the 2008 Indian anthology Mumbai Cutting, an anthology of eleven short films, narrating 11 stories based on life in Mumbai. They were directed by filmmakers, including Anurag Kashyap, Sudhir Mishra, and Rahul Dholakia, and the music for one of the films was composed by Ilaiyaraja.
