The teaser of The Last Hour, an upcoming crime series starring Sanjay Kapoor and Raima Sen in the lead, was released on Wednesday. The series will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on May 14.
The Last Hour is a “first-ever” supernatural crime series, as per the streaming platform’s press release.
Set in a small Himalayan town, The Last Hour explores the story of a “mysterious” young shaman (healer), who is on the run protecting a secret “gift”, joins a newly transferred cop to track down a mysterious killer, “a dangerous figure from his dark past”. He gets stuck in a dilemma between love and duty when he falls in love with the cop’s daughter. The story eventually unfolds the answers to whether he will be able to “use his gift to save what he treasures most or will it delete everything”.
Replete with intrigue, thrill and romance, The Last Hour also features Shahana Goswami, Karma Takapa, Shaylee Krishen, Robin Tamang and Mandakini Goswami in pivotal roles.
The Last Hour is created, written and produced by director Amit Kumar (Colonia) and writer Anupama Minz. Kumar has also executive produced the series along with Academy Award and four-time BAFTA award winner Asif Kapadia (Amy, Diego Maradona) who made his Indian web series debut in the role.
This series marks the second collaboration for this filmmakers trio after the 2013 Hindi film Monsoon Shootout.
On the collaboration, Kumar said, “Asif Kapadia and I have worked together since our film school days, and when the chance to collaborate on this idea together came up, we grabbed it. Together with Anupama Minz, my co-creator and co-writer, we have created a unique supernatural show that we feel confident, will be enjoyed by the audiences. The entire cast has done a splendid job of bringing the exciting narrative to life. The concept is unique and the supernatural world of the show is largely unexplored, so we at Fission Features, are delighted to present something fresh to the audience.”
