ZEE5’s next original is a Telugu crime thriller. The new series, titled Meka Suri is about Suri, a village butcher, who is 6’3” ft. His skill with his knife earns him the moniker ‘Meka’ Suri. He is married to Rani who, one day, is murdered. Who is behind the crime and how does Suri avenge the murder of his beloved wife, forms the rest of the story.
Karthik Kancherla of Simba Entertainment, who distributed Rajinikanth, Aishwarya Starrer Robot in North India and also associated with Nanban/ Snehitudu a Vijay starter, directed by N Shankar is now venturing into digital platforms with Meka Suri.
The series introduces theatre artistes Sumaya and Abhinay as its lead actors. Trinadh Velisala, who worked on films Mosagallaki Mosagadu, Okka Kshanam and Brother Of Bommali, is debuting as a director with the two-part web series. The first part will start streaming on ZEE5 from July 31.
