After announcing his retirement from all forms of international cricket in August, former Indian cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has plans of entering the entertainment arena.
Dhoni and his wife Sakshi Singh Dhoni are set to explore production with over six projects, including an untitled web series.
Dhoni Entertainment, a production company founded by Dhoni, will be bankrolling the mythological, sci-fi web series. Sakshi, managing director of Dhoni Entertainment, called the series a “thrilling adventure”.
In an interview with Mid-Day, Sakshi had said that the series will be based on a book. Set in a high-tech facility on a remote island, the series will explore the journey of a mysterious ‘aghori’, she said.
According to Pinkvilla, the web series is adapted from Akshat Gupta’s The Hidden Hindu. The web series is expected to become India’s most expensive one.
According to Sakshi, the series is in the developmental stage and the creative team will soon decide on a director and a cast.
