Netflix India on Wednesday unveiled a line-up of 41 original series, movies, documentaries, and stand-up comedies as their 2021 slate.
The list includes Madhuri Dixit Nene‘s upcoming suspenseful family drama series Finding Anamika, Raveena Tandon‘s digital debut series Aranyak, a tribute series on director Satyajit Ray, new projects from filmmakers Karan Johar and Abbas-Mustan.
The line-up also includes the returning seasons of series such as Delhi Crime and Little Things.
The new movies that were announced by the streaming platform are Sonakshi Sinha‘s social drama Bulbul Tarang, Taapsee Pannu‘s murder mystery Haseen Dillruba, Jitendra Kumar’s sports comedy Jaadugar, director Ivan Ayr’s next Milestone, Abbas–Mustan’s murder mystery Penthouse starring Bobby Deol and Arjun Rampal. Johar will be directing an anthology Ajeeb Daastaans.
Netflix India will also release four original true crime documentaries this year. Searching For Sheela, which is based on Osho’s ex-secretary Ma Anand Sheela, will be one of them. It is directed by Shakun Batra and produced by Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Somen Mishra, Dharmatic Entertainment, and Jouska Films.
The streaming giant will also release a docu-series on the deadliest killers of India, Indian Predator, directed by Ayesha Sood, Umesh Kulkarni, Ashwin Shetty, and Dheeraj Jindal.
In the series list, Madhavan will be making his debut on Netflix India with Decoupled, which has been created by Manu Joseph and directed by Hardik Mehta. The series is described as “an uncompromising comedy about the true nature of people, India and marriage”. Decoupled also stars Surveen Chawla.
Tandon will also be making her digital debut with Aranyak. It is described as a mysterious, intriguing story based in Himachal. Talking about her character, Tandon said during the press event, “My character’s name is Kasturi Dogra. Kasturi struggles to balance her personal and professional life, like many Indian women. She is trying to level herself in a man’s world.”
Filmmaker and actor Pooja Bhatt is making a comeback with the series Bombay Begums. Directed by Lipstick Under My Burkha‘s director Alankrita Shrivastava, the series also features Shahana Goswami, Amruta Subhash, Plabita Borthakur, and Aadhya Anand in pivotal roles.

Shweta Tripathi Sharma will be seen in the series Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein, which is described as “a dark comical pulpy desi thriller. It stars co-stars Tahir Raj Bhasin, Anchal Singh, Saurabh Shukla, Surya Sharma, Brijendra Kala, Arunoday Singh, and others.
Part of the comedy slate is a previously announced show by Kapil Sharma, Comedy Premier League, and a bunch of specials by Sumukhi Suresh, Aakash Gupta, Rahul Dua, and Prashasti Singh.
