Shilpa Shetty Kundra, the Hindi actor, is all set to make her web series debut with a new project, according to a PTI report published in The Week. The actor also said that while it is too early to reveal details, she aims to start shooting for the series in 2022.
Shetty had earlier appeared in the Amazon Prime reality show Hear Me Love Me, which premiered in 2018.
“I have said yes to something that I am going to start mid next year,” she told PTI. “It needs a lot of prep, that will be another announcement. OTT has opened up a lot of avenues for many actors, including me. So there is something that has come my way. It will be interesting for me to be seen in that space.”
On the film front, Shetty, who has appeared in films like Life in a Metro and Dhadkan, is currently gearing up for her comeback to cinema after 14 years. She will be seen in the upcoming film Hungama 2, featuring Paresh Rawal. The Priyadarshan-directed comedy is scheduled to release on Disney+Hotstar on July 23.
Talking about Hungama 2’s direct-OTT release, Shetty told PTI, “I would have loved to make my comeback on 70 mm but OTT is great because there are some people who would prefer watching films at home due to the pandemic.”

Hungama 2, which is a spiritual sequel to the 2003 film Hungama, also stars Meezaan Jafri, Johnny Lever, Rajpal Yadav, Ashutosh Rana, and Pranitha Subhash in pivotal roles. The previous film was also helmed by Priyadarshan.
Shetty will be seen as Paresh Rawal’s wife in the upcoming film.
However, her comeback film was supposed to be filmmaker Sabbir Khan’s Nikamma. The action-romantic-comedy, also starring Abhimanyu Dassani and Shirley Setia, was pushed due to the ongoing pandemic. Shetty told PTI that the film is awaiting a theatrical release.
