Sonakshi Sinha, the Hindi actor who was last seen in the 2019 action film Dabangg 3, will make her digital debut and soon appear in a web series on Amazon Prime Video, the streaming service announced on Sunday.
The first look of Sinha featuring as a police officer was released along with the announcement.
The release date of the web series is yet to be announced.
The untitled series will be produced by executive producers Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under the banner of Excel Media and Entertainment along with Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti under the banner of Tiger Baby. The series will be directed by Reema Kagti and Ruchika Oberoi. It will also feature Vijay Varma, Gulshan Devaiah, and Sohum Shah. The rest of the cast and crew members is yet to be announced.
This will be Kagti’s second collaboration with Amazon Prime Video after the 2019 drama series Made in Heaven which she created along with Zoya Akhtar. This will be Excel Media and Entertainment’s fourth venture with the streaming platform after Mirzapur, Inside Edge, and Made in Heaven.
Speaking about Sinha’s character in the series, Kagti said in a press release, “She plays a tough cop in the series, and it is a delight to see her sink her teeth into the skin of the character.”

Sinha has two more OTT releases lined up. She will be seen in Hindi historical war drama film Bhuj: The Pride of India, directed by Abhishek Dudhaiya, in which Sinha will feature alongside Ajay Devgn and Vijay Karnik. The film, which is set against the backdrop of the 1971 Indo-Pakistan War, will stream on Disney+ Hotstar. Sinha also has upcoming social drama Bulbul Tarang that is slated to release on Netflix, alongside Tahir Raj Bhasin. The film is directed by Shree Narayan Singh.
