Sriya Reddy Starrer ‘Andava Kaanom’ To Release On JSK Prime Media On August 28

Recently, JSK Film Corporation announced that three of its films – Andava Kaanom, Vaa Dealand, Mummy Save Me will hit the OTT platform directly soon. Although, the name of the streaming service had not been announced.

The banner has now revealed that all three films will be hitting its homegrown all-in-one app called JSK Prime Media where viewers can watch the film through the pay-per-view option for a nominal fee of Rs. 100. Earlier, Thirukumaran Entertainment‘s CV Kumar had launched a similar pay-per-view app called Regal Talkies and has been releasing independent feature films, shorts, and documentaries on it.

The first film to hit the app would be Sriya Reddy starrer Andava Kaanom. The film which was to see a release in 2017, is a comedy-drama helmed by C Velmathi, an erstwhile assistant of Suseenthiran. The film based on real-life incidents that happened near Theni and also features Vinod Munna, Arun Brother, Naveena, and Ilaiyaraaja in prominent roles with several other newcomers. Reportedly a rural women-centric film, it has PV Shankar on camera, Asvamitra on music, Sathyaraj Natrajan on edit, and AK Muthu on art. Lyrics have been penned by Mathurakavi.

The trailer and teaser of the film were released back in 2017 but later taken down from YouTube unannounced. Now the makers, JSK Film Corporation, have released a new teaser for the film with Vijay Sethupathi‘s voiceover narration of the film.

We are shown an ‘Anda’ (who VJS claims is himself) and his sister Shanthi (Sriya) who is extremely fond of the Anda and unwilling to spare anybody who lays an eyeball on it. We then get to see the village they reside in, the villagers’ fist fighting with Shanthi, a bleeding couple on the floor, an arrangement of all the Andas in the village, and Vijay Sethupathi’s request to unite him with his sister.

The film will be available for streaming on the app from August 28.

JSK Prime Media, an all-in-one digital app, also includes daily news and a weekly magazine, religious content and benefits for various zodiacs, cooking, fashion, and beauty content, medicine and Ayurveda, short stories and educational content, cinema news, direct OTT releases, songs and comedy content. The app will be available soon on the Google Play Store, App Store, Windows Store, and Amazon Fire TV.

Until the app launches, JSK Film Corporation has been recycling old films and releasing them on their official YouTube channel. The films include Rajinikanth starrer Kazhugu and Murali starrer Namma Veetu Kalyanam. The banner has also put out a poster inviting college students from the 234 constituencies in Tamil Nadu to write for their weekly magazine ‘Tamizhaga Arasiyal’.

JSK Film Corporation is also reportedly commissioning three big films, the details of which will be revealed soon.
