Actor Akshay Kumar’s OTT debut The End is all set to go on floors by the end of this year or early 2022, producer Vikram Malhotra said, while speaking at an event held on Wednesday.
The Amazon Prime Video series, which is said to be an “action-packed” thriller, was first announced in March 2019.
At a press conference held ahead of the release of Vidya Balan-starrer Sherni on Amazon Prime Video, Vikram Malhotra, founder and CEO, Abundantia Entertainment, said “Apart from Breathe, there are other series in development like Hush Hush, which is in the middle of the production. We had to pause it because of the pandemic. There’s a show called The End, featuring Akshay Kumar. It is set to start later this year or early next year, depending on the situation.”
In March 2019, Kumar had launched The End at a huge event in which he was seen walking the ramp with his coat ablaze.
The series will be a multi-season show catering to fans of the action-thriller genre worldwide. According to the actor, the show will have a ‘fun and entertaining story’.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, Kumar, who was last seen in Laxmii, announced that his upcoming Hindi film Bell Bottom will release in theatres worldwide on July 27. The espionage thriller was earlier scheduled for release on May 28 but was postponed after cinema halls across the country shut down due to the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic. The film also stars Vaani Kapoor, Huma Qureshi, and Lara Dutta in pivotal roles.
The actor has also started work on a few other projects including Ram Setu, Bachchan Pandey, and Prithviraj.
