With new releases on Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Zee5, and Disney Plus Hotstar, here’s our list of the top 10 films and TV shows to watch this week, between December 11 and December 17.

Torbaaz – Netflix (December 11)

Starring Sanjay Dutt and Nargis Fakri, Torbaaz is a Hindi sports drama film that features an ex-army doctor who tries to transform the lives of children at an Afghanistan refugee camp, through cricket.

The Prom – Netflix (December 11)

The Prom is an English film with an ensemble cast, including Meryl Streep, James Corden, Kerry Washington, and Nicole Kidman. The film is about a group of Broadway stars who are down on their luck but rally behind a teen from Indiana who wants to go to the prom with her girlfriend.

Vir Das: Outside In – Netflix (December 16)

Comedian Vir Das’ stand-up special Outside In is a collection of the 30 virtual shows he did from his residence during the Covid-19 pandemic. In the show, Das captures what life is like, when you’re stuck at home.

Durgamati – Amazon Prime Video (December 11)

Starring Bhumi Pednekar, Durgamati is a Hindi remake of the Telugu film, Bhaagamathie. Pednekar, a government officer, becomes the target of a sinister conspiracy.

Archer Season 11 – Netflix (December 11)

Archer is an English animated sitcom that features the titular character, Sterling Archer, as a smart-mouthed superspy. He is part of a dysfunctional intelligence agency led by his mother, Malory Archer. The show revolves around the exploits of the employees of the agency.

I’m Your Woman – Amazon Prime Video (December 11)

I’m Your Woman is an Amazon original movie. A 1970s crime drama, the movie features Rachel Brosnahan as Jean, a mother who is forced to go on the run with her baby when her husband betrays his partners.

Bebaakee Season 2 – Zee5 (December 11)

Bebaakee is a drama series that stars Kushal Tandon, Shiv Jyoti Rajput, and Karan Jotwani. The story revolves around Sufiyaan, Kaiynaat, and Imtiaz, and how their lives are intertwined by love, hate, and obsession.

The Expanse Season 5 – Amazon Prime Video (December 16)

Set hundreds of years in the future, the science-fiction TV series The Expanse brings together a hardened detective and a rogue ship’s captain, who investigate the case of a missing young woman. All this against the backdrop of rising tensions between Earth and Mars.

The Wilds – Amazon Prime Video (December 11)

This Amazon originals young adult drama series is about a group of teen girls who must fight for survival, after a plane crash leaves them stranded on a deserted island. The twist – they didn’t land there by accident.

Safety – Disney Plus Hotstar (December 11)

Safety is a biographical sports drama about former Clemson University football player Ray McElrathbey as he faces challenging circumstances. His dedication and persistence help him to triumph over adversity.
