With Prabhu Deva turning 45 today, here’s a song from a film that made him a success overnight. Like most songs featuring him, ‘Kadhalikum Pennin’ has him dancing but this time with his onscreen father and singer SP Balasubrahmanyam giving him company.
The song has a fun setting to it, something straight out of a cartoon, with dance moves so simple that gets even SPB grooving. While Kadhalan was known for its soundtrack, particularly ‘Urvasi Urvasi‘, ‘Mukkabala’, and ‘Petta Rap’, this song is underrated. But that hasn’t stopped Rahman from performing this song at several of his tours. The song went on to be popular in Hindi as well, sung by the same singers titled ‘Premika Ne Pyar Se’.
