The first look of Saif Ali Khan’s upcoming film – Chef – is out, where he and his on-screen son look out a trailer van similar to the original Hollywood film Chef (2014) starring Jon Favreau.
The trailer, too, gives one a sneak peak into the travels and adventures father-son embark in a bid to try out local Indian cuisines.
Ary, the son of chef Roshan Kalra (Saif Ali Khan) and dancer Radha Menon (Padmapriya), wants his father to attend a school function. But because of work, Roshan declines but tries to make up for it. We then get visuals of the two in Kerala, having rice and curry on a plantain leaf on a roadside shop.
“Do you know where you get the best chole bhature?” asks Roshan.
“What’s chole bhature?” responds a clueless Ary, with the two then heading to Chandini Chowk to try roadside old Delhi food.
While the trailer begins on a fun, food-and-travel note, it takes a serious side when work comes calling for Roshan. “This isn’t going to work on me, Ary,” he says.
“What really does work on you, papa?” responds Ary to his workaholic father, mirroring a similar exchange of conversation from the original film.
