Today is director AL Vijay and actor Sara Arjun’s birthday. They worked together on the 2011 film Deiva Thirumagal, and later in Saivam in 2014.
Set in Karaikudi, the film is about a child’s love for her rooster. The album featured many popular songs including ‘Ore Oru Ooril’, starring Sara and her grandfather (played by Nasser). The song is composed with minimal instruments, set to vocals and lyrics that stand out. Most of the team, including GV Prakash and cinematographer Nirav Shah worked without remuneration because of their friendship with AL Vijay.
Director Vijay entered cinema with the 2007 film Kireedam, and later made films like Poi Solla Porom, Madrasapattinam, Devi, Devi 2, and Watchman.
Sara Arjun, who began acting at the age of six, was popular for her role as Vikram’s daughter in Deiva Thirumagal. She has since acted in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi films.
