Happy birthday Suriya! Our song of the day is ‘Sodakku Mela’ from Thaana Serndha Koottam starring Suriya and gang out on the road. The song was the highlight of the album, a collaboration between Anirudh and director Vignesh Shivan. Anthony Dasan packs a punch with the vocals, set to folk and kuthu music and a violin segment. Members of the cast along with Sheril of ‘Jimikki Kammal’ fame make an appearance. The song went viral after release.
This was Suriya’s 2018 release, a remake of the Hindi film Special 26. The actor made his debut with director Vasanth’s Nerrukku Ner in 1997, and in his two decades in cinema he has given hits like Khakha Khakha, Pithamagan, 7Am Arivu, Singham, Gajini, 24 and more.
