Happy birthday, Rajkiran. As a tribute, our song of the day is from Power Paandi, the film in which Rajkiran played a hero at the age of 68. In 1991, he had played the lead in Kasthuri Raja’s En Rasavin Manasile, and 22 years later, Kasthuri Raja’s son, Dhanush, directed him in this film.
Rajkiran acted in 27 movies in his career, and was a director-producer on Aranmanai Kili and Ellame En Rasathan. His films may have been a few, but he is known for only picking roles that are strong and he is familiar with. In Power Paandi, he plays a retired stunt-master who meets his first love, Revathi, years later. The two of them are out spending their day together, and they realise their feelings for each other are still young.
