Ten days after the teaser was launched, Balaji Motion Pictures has now released the official trailer of Bollywood’s next superhero flick The Flying Jatt. If the teaser made one think that it was full of action focusing on the classic ‘Hero Vs. Villain’ duel, then the trailer makes it apparent that it belongs more in the comedy-entertainer category.
Tiger Shroff is a cut-sardar boy who spends most of his time dawdling around, misusing his ability to fly by scaring unsuspecting passersby. His mother (Amrita Singh) who makes him put his skills to use by cleaning the ceiling of the house, suggests that he should save lives rather than chase girls with his powers.
Snippets of his misadventures are shown in the 2 minute 19 seconds trailer, before the scenes take a serious turn. The villain, played by wrestler and Hollywood actor Nathan Jones, is bestowed with super powers. Actor Kay Kay Menon makes an appearance as the mastermind behind all the mayhem that is to come in the film, ordering the beefed up super villain to fight and “finish” the Jatt superhero. He wreaks havoc prompting the seemingly lazy boy with super powers to wear the quintessential cape and save the city. Abandoning his boyish, clean-shaven look and amateur costume, the ‘Flying Jatt’ returns in the second half of the trailer sporting a blue turban, with the Khalsa talisman on his chest, and engages in a sequence of ruthless fights with the villain.
While the film boasts of a large CGI team responsible for the “action-packed” special effects, the trailer manages to showcase the film more as a comic entertainer with fight sequences that take place on the moon and continue deep underwater.
Directed by choreographer Remo D’Souza, the film also stars Jacqueline Fernandez as the superhero’s love interest. The film is slated to release on 25 August.
