Poojai has become a hit with the Telugu audience. The film was dubbed and released as Pooja in AP and Telangana over Deepavali, and has become a runaway success. Actor Vishal even held a success meet in Hyderabad recently with director Hari, and expressed his heartfelt thanks to the media and audience for supporting his film. He also revealed that from preliminary figures and reports, the film was his biggest hit in Tamil and Telugu so far. “In terms of number of theatres and collections, Pooja is the biggest hit I’ve had here and in Tamil Nadu. My father is extremely happy as he is a great fan of Hari sir and he loved the fact that I worked with him again after Bharani (Thamirabharani in Tamil).”
Vishal was also proud of the fact that the film got a phenomenal response despite being a dubbed one. “As an actor and producer, I’m incredibly proud of this venture. I wanted Hari sir to make a family entertainer for Deepavali and he gave me exactly that. I am very honoured and would like to thank all my fans for making this a success.”
