Silverscreen goes to the Aindhaam Thalaimurai Sidha Vaidhiya Sigamani audio launch
The audio launch of Aindhaam Thalaimurai Sidha Vaidhiya Sigamani was a staid affair. There were no star outbursts, no vehement rants against piracy and even the usually controversial Keyaar managed to keep his speech short, sweet and boring. These rare instances were courtesy the presence of Iyakkunar Sigaram K Balachander, who was the chief guest at the event. Dressed in his usual whites, the director told the gathering that he enjoyed the trailer and songs of the movie. “I personally don’t like kuthu songs, but the fresh treatment given to the genre has made it catchy and attractive. I like it.”
Actor Bharath also came in for a lot of praise. He was called a ‘sensitive actor’ by the director and a ‘young Vikram’ by Keyaar. “ATSVS is my 25th movie. In a span of 12 years. For this, I have to thank my fans, directors and producers.” He apparently laughed a lot when he first heard the script from LG Ravichandar. “We spoke for around three hours and I don’t remember being bored at all.” And Bharath admits that when he first saw the director, Ravichandar, he was a little scared. “No offence to Ravi, but when I saw him the first time, I thought he was a stunt master or something. And I really believed that he was going to narrate an action script.” He thanked K Balachander for coming out to support his movie and requested continued support and encouragement from his fans and the media.
Actress Nandita on the other hand, hoped that this film will be as big a hit as her previous movies. “I have been blessed indeed to be working with successful directors and to be on the same stage as KB sir. I loved ATSVS because I wear trendy clothes in certain scenes and it’s an image change that I’ve been looking forward to for a long time.” Nandita has also shaken a leg for a couple of songs, her first tryst with dancing. “So far, I’ve not had the opportunity to do so.”

She was also called a ‘hit actress’ and ‘raasi actress’ by Keyaar. But Gaana Bala didn’t agree with him. “She can be lucky and everything, but she’s come so far only because Nandita sister can act. Not because she is lucky.” He also spoke about his collaboration with Congo-based rapper Yabama Jo. “I was very surprised when Jo was asked to sing in Tamil. I made sure he sang properly because we can’t get him back for a second try. He’s so far away and namma kittayum kaasu romba kammi!”
There are 21 comedians in this flick; so there was no want of hilarity on the sets. Thambi Ramaiah spent most of his time joking around with Imman Annachi, Chaams and Badava Gopi. “Most of the dialogues were improvised on-screen. We had a lot of experienced comedians working on sets and they all used to try and better each other’s lines. The effect is very good and you can see the difference. It’s only because none of the actors stuck to the script!” laughs director Ravichandar.
The movie is scheduled to release by the end of this month.
