Shankar has revealed that the idea behind I came to him around 15 years ago. According to Deccan Chronicle, the director was speaking at the Hindi audio launch event of I, when he made the remark. “I got the idea as a scratch 15 years ago. It was just something that I developed in a good way within three years while making the film.” The director apparently even narrated the story to AR Rahman around that time.
Vikram, Shankar, AR Rahman and PC Sreeram were present to promote the film. Earlier in the day, Vikram also participated in Bigg Boss 8 to promote I. The film’s heroine Amy Jackson gave the event a miss.
