Actor Madhavan’s upcoming Tamil-Hindi bilingual, Irrudhi Suttru, will have two real-life boxing professionals as the female leads. “We have roped in Ritika Singh and Mumtaz Sorcar, two professional boxers. Sorcar belongs to a family of magicians and has done films in Bengali,” says Sashikanth of Y Not Studios. CV Kumar of Thirukumaran Entertainment has co-produced the film.

The film, titled Saala Khadoos in Hindi is said to be a “gritty human drama set in the world of boxing” is directed by Sudha Kongara Prasad, former associate of Mani Ratnam. This is her second venture after Drohi (2010). Madhavan, whose last Tamil film was Lingusamy’s Vettai, has been working on sporting a muscular body for the past few months at Los Angeles. To be shot entirely in Chennai, the film went on floors on August 8. Music is by Santhosh Nayaranan. KL Praveen is the editor.
