Channing Tatum will star in Gambit, a somewhat interesting superhero from the X- Men universe. Tatum’s choice is a strange one, as the actor is at the height of his popularity now, following a string of successes and could have easily had his pick from the lot. Perhaps it has to do with Gambit’s superpowers, which Google helpfully informs us is an ability to harness kinetic energy, and burning red eyes (not superpower material, but still different). Whatever Tatum’s reasons may be, we’re sure he’ll make a success out of it the way he did with that Magic Mike film. With his name attached to the project, it has received a certain amount of prominence in the Superhero universe, otherwise dominated by the likes of the Avengers and their ilk. Gambit will not be making an appearance in the upcoming Bryan Singer directed X Men : Apocalypse. The standalone movie will however release on October 7, 2016.
The film is set to be directed by Rupert Wyatt, best known for his work on Rise of the Planet of the Apes and the Mark Wahlberg starrer The Gambler.
