In a recent interview, Amitabh Bachchan revealed that actor Rajinikanth had advised him not to be a part of 2.0.
Bachchan was approached by director Shankar to play the negative role in the film. However, Bachchan decided not to accept the offer, as Rajinikanth called him on phone and told him that people would not accept a legendary hero like Bachchan as a villain.

Shankar had also approached Hollywood actor Arnold Schwarzeneggar for the role. Finally, Akshay Kumar has been signed on to play the villain in 2.0, which is touted to be a sequel to Enthiran.
2.0 stars Rajinikanth, Amy Jackson and Akshay Kumar in important roles. The film, which has Ar Rahman composing the scores, is being produced by Lyca Productions in a budget of Rs 350 crores.
Currently, Rajinikanth is shooting for 2.0 and Pa Ranjith’s Kabali. Amitabh Bachchan is awaiting the release of Bijoy Nambiar’s Wazir, in which has played a pivotal role alongside Farhan Akhtar.
