Director-producer Shirish Kunder, whose short film Kriti was released on the internet recently, has sent a legal notice to Nepali filmmaker Aneel Neupane who had accused Kunder of plagiarism. Aneel Neupane had claimed that Kriti is a copy of his own short film, BOB, which was released on Youtube on May 12, 2016.

Through the legal notice, Kunder has sought a written apology from Aneel, and has asked the latter to refrain from making any oral or written comments on Kriti. Also, Kunder has demanded that BOB should be taken down from the internet immediately.
Aneel had claimed that BOB was made in October 2015, and soon, he had uploaded it on Vimeo as a private video to share it with close friends. According to Shirish Kunder, the shooting of Kriti was completed in February 2016. He added that the film’s script was with a few people, and Aneel might have come across the plot through one of them.
To those comparing #Kriti with some short film released on May 12, 2016:#Kriti was shot in February, 2016.
Hope this settles the matter.
