Actor Shaam will play a cop in his upcoming bilingual film, Kaaviyan. Directed by Parthasarathy, the movie is a road thriller. Actress Aathmiya, who debuted with Sivakarthikeyan’s Manam Kothi Paravai, and model turned actress Sridevi Kumar have been cast in major roles in the project.
According to a DC report, Shaam plays an Indian Police officer who finds himself in trouble in a foreign country. A Hollywood actor has been brought on board to play the villain, while the film itself will be shot entirely in the US. “Technically, it will be on par with Hollywood standards as we are using all the latest technical support available in the US,” claims Director Parthasarathy.
The movie will be produced by K.V. Sabaresh of 2M Cinemas. N.S.Rajesh handles the cinematography while Shiva takes care of the stunt choreography.

This is the third time Shaan will essay the role of a cop onsceen. In the multi-starrer, ‘Purampokku Engira Podhuvudamai’, actor Shaam easily surpassed his co-actors, in his role as the police officer, Macaulay. According to an IBT review, “Shaam as a police officer stands out among all the leading characters, with the intensity he portrays in his role”. He was also seen playing a cop role in Jeyam Ravi’s Thillalangadi.
The actor was last seen in the bilingual movie, Oru Melliya Kodu, alongside actor Arjun.
