Actress Priyanka Chopra, who is busy with her projects in the West, is debuting in Marathi as a producer. The film, titled Ventilator, is a comedy starring Ashutosh Gowariker, the director-producer who has acclaimed films like Lagaan to his credit.
Ventilator revolves around a Marathi family, an ailing senior member of which is put on the hospital ventilator just a few days before the Ganpati festival. The film has a strong ensemble cast including Boman Irani, Sukanya Kulkarni, Usha Nadkarni and Rahul Solapurkar. It is directed by Rajesh Mapuskar of Ferrari Ki Sawari fame. The film is all set to be screened at the Jio MAMI Mumbai International Film Festival.
Gowarikar, whose last release was Hrithik Roshan-starrer Mohenjo Daro, has starred in films like Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa and Chamatkar. He has also appeared in several TV shows like Circus and CID in the late 80s.
Priyanka’s mother, Madhu Chopra is credited as the co-producer of the film. She manages the operations of the actress’ production house Purple Pebble Pictures.
