The film, directed by Shree Narayan Singh, is based on Indian prime minister Narendra Modi’s cleanliness drive initiative, ‘Swacch Bharat Abhiyaan’. The film has a satirical take on the number of reports of newly wed brides who choose not to live in homes that lack toilets. The 2016 Tamil film Joker dealt with a similar issue.
Akshay Kumar has a number of releases and films planned until August 2018. He is currently shooting for Shankar’s Endhiran 2.0, where he plays the antagonist. Jolly LLB 2 is expected to release in February next year.
