Actor Prabhu Deva has said that his next film was written by late director K Subhash. The filmmaker, 57, succumbed to kidney and heart failure on November 23.
In an interview with the Times of India, Prabhu Deva said he was shocked to hear of Subhash’s sudden passing. He said, “My father (Sundaram Master) and Subaash sir had worked together on many Mani Ratnam films — my dad as the choreographer and he, as an AD. So, I knew him since I was in school. Our journey is more than the films we did together. In fact, he gave me two of the best Tamil movies of my career. He even wrote some of my popular songs.”

“The film was okayed only because he had written it. He was a jovial person. I met him once in Mumbai when he was working with Rohit Shetty and he joked about how I’ve become such a big director. It’s kind of him to say that when he himself was such a popular name in Bollywood. He knew about his health and would tell me that he wanted to make the most of his time. It’s difficult to come to terms with his loss,” added Prabhu.
Prabhu Deva has worked with Subhash in 123, Eazhiyini Sirippil, and Suyamvaram.
