Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi has finally opened up about his role in actor Ajith’s much-awaited film. During a media interaction at the Gobal Citizen Concert, he said “I am starting to shoot at the end of this month for my first Tamil film, with the one and only superstar Ajith. I call him Ajith Anna. I am really excited to play a really kick-ass role with him.” This film, tentatively titled AK57, will be Oberoi’s Tamil debut.
According to earlier reports, before the makers finalised Vivek, leading actors like Arvind Swami, Arjun Sarja, and Sudeep were considered for the antagonist’s role.
The film went on floors last month, with scenes being shot in locales across Europe. Siruthai Siva, who directed Ajith’s last two films Veeram and Vedalam, is directing this film too. Unlike the last two films which were based in India, AK57 is reported to be an international spy thriller. Unconfirmed reports suggest that Ajith will play the role of an Interpol officer. The film stars Kajal Aggarwal and Akshara Haasan in pivotal roles.
Actress Akshara Haasan joined the Thala 57 shooting in Bulgaria, and announced this on Twitter:

Kajal Agarwal is said to play Ajith’s Bengali wife in the film. Anirudh Ravichander, who scored the music of Vedalam, is the composer for AK57. The film is produced by TG Thyagarajan and is slated for an April 2017 release.
