Kajol may have a major role in VIP 2. Reports of the star’s role have been circulating for sometime now, which say that the actress will essay a negative character in the project, a sequel to Velayilla Pattathari (2014).

A spokesperson for Dhanush would not verify the report and instead said, “We are in talks with a lot of people for some important roles. As of now, Dhanush, Amala Paul, Samuthirakani have confirmed that they will star in VIP 2.” Dhanush, Amala Paul, and Samuthirakani will reprise their roles from the original, while Sean Roldan will take over from Anirudh Ravichander as the music composer.
Kajol was last seen in Rohit Shetty’s Dilwale. She is gearing up to star in Ship Of Theseus director Anand Gandhi’s next. The project is produced by Ajay Devgn.
Kajol made her Tamil debut with Minsaara Kanavu (1997), starring Arvind Swamy, Prabhu Deva. Directed by Rajiv Menon, the film was a romantic comedy with music by AR Rahman.
