Carrie Fisher, best known for playing Princess Leia in the Star Wars films, had a heart attack on board a flight from London to Los Angeles. Paramedics subsequently spent another 15 minutes administering CPR to Fisher before finally getting a pulse. Her brother Todd said she was currently in intensive care in Los Angeles.

“If everyone could just pray for her that would be good,” he told Entertainment Tonight. “The doctors are doing their thing and we don’t want to bug them. We are waiting by patiently.”

Fisher had been on tour promoting her latest book, The Princess Diarist.

A law enforcement official told NBC that her condition was “not good”.

Passengers on Fisher’s plane tweeted about the incident as well.

Carrie Fisher is the daughter of  former Hollywood stars Debbie Reynolds and Eddie Fisher. She survived alcoholism, addiction to pain medication, and cocaine to emerge as a best-selling novelist. She recently starred in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
