Raghava Lawrence’s next film, Motta Shiva Ketta Shiva (MSKM), will release on 9 March, a day earlier than the scheduled release date, 10 March. The film’s team organised a hurried press meet on Monday evening to announce the new date. The film’s promotional material had carried 10 March as the release date.
Starring Raghava Lawrence and Nikki Galrani, Motta Shiva Ketta Shiva has Lawrence playing a police officer. The film’s title is taken from a popular line in Lawrence’s previous film Muni 3: Ganga.
Earlier, MSKM’s release was delayed several times because of trouble between the producers and a financier. Tamil film financier Bothra alleged that the film’s producers owed him Rs 7.5 crores. The case is still in the court.
In December last year, Raghava Lawrence sought police protection to ensure that the film released without delays. He told Silverscreen, “We initially began the film with S Madhan of Vendhar films, and Super Good Films. It was based on my original screenplay. But due to issues we abandoned the story. The film that we are releasing now is the Tamil remake of the Telugu film Pattas. This is entirely different from the one S Madhan produced. Some people told us that we need help and permission from S Madhan to release this film. And so, we requested the police commissioner to help us.”

An arrest warrant was issued in June last year against S Madhan on charges of corruption and fraud. After mysteriously disappearing from his home in Chennai and leaving behind a suicide note, Madhan evaded arrest for months before being caught in Tirupur in November. This affected the film’s release and the team had been struggling to manage a suitable release date.
