Prithviraj will make his directorial debut with Lucifer, starring Mohanlal in the lead. The much-awaited project will go on floors in May 2018; the pre-production work for the movie is happening in full swing.
The team comprising Prithviraj, Mohanlal, Murali Gopy and Antony Perumbavoor called a press meet to officially announce the start of the project. The actors took to Facebook to live-stream the event, resting all speculations about the project being shelved.

Lucifer will be scripted by actor-writer Murali Gopy.
Prithviraj also added that while the rest of the cast and crew is yet to be finalised, he is open to acting in the film, in case a role required an actor like him.

Meanwhile a report stated that Mohanlal is thrilled about being a part of the project. “I’m glad that Prithviraj chose me to act in his directorial debut. There are films which were helmed by actors-turned-directors, but this is probably the first time a young actor like Prithviraj will be directing a senior actor like me. There is always an excitement in doing things for the first time. It is now their responsibility to make this a very good movie,” he said.
Lucifer will be bankrolled by Antony Perumbavoor, under the banner Aashirwad Cinemas.
