The Tamil remake of Bollywood movie Queen has been shelved, said actress Tamannaah Bhatia at a promotional event for Baahubali 2. According to a report in Mid Day, the actress said, “We were supposed to do that film, but it’s not happening anymore. The reason is unknown to me, but I know it’s shelved.”
The original, starring Kangana Ranaut in the lead, was widely appreciated by critics and fans alike. Kangana also received the National Award for Best Actress for her portrayal of a Delhi girl who goes on a solo trip when her fiancee walks out of the marriage a day before the ceremony.
The remake was announced in November 2016.
