The producer of the franchise, Shobu Yarlagadda, has confirmed the news. “Baahubali doesn’t belong to Andhra Pradesh anymore. It’s gone out to the world. We’ve decided to make the television series in Hindi, and then telecast it in different Indian languages. Why Hindi? Because it’s the national language and has maximum reach,” he said.

Director SS Rajamouli, during the promotions for the movie, had reportedly said that the team is “thinking of having a TV series”. He had added that the series would not follow the usual TV soap pattern and would mostly be aired in seasons, with 10-15 episodes at a time.

Details regarding the cast and crew are yet to be announced.

Meanwhile, the movie is expected to cross the Rs 1000 crore mark by the end of its second weekend at the box-office.
