Hindi Film ‘Jolly LLB’ To Be Remade In Telugu

Bollywood’s Jolly LLB-2, the legal comedy/drama that had Akshay Kumar, Huma Qureshi in the lead roles, will reportedly be remade in Telugu soon. The Telugu film will be produced by S Radhakrishna of Haarika and Haasini creations.

Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, the producer confirmed purchasing the rights of the Hindi film. According to a source, the film’s rights was bought for Rs 1.75 crores.

While the actors for the film have not been disclosed, rumours indicate that actor Venkatesh could be roped in.

The film’s shooting will begin in December this year, soon after the producer’s Pawan Kalyan – Trivikram project completes.

Jolly LLB was released in 2013 starring Arshad Warsi and Boman Irani, with the storyline inspired by the 1999 hit-and-run case of Sanjeev Nanda. The film won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi that year, while Saurabh Shukla won the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor. 

The film was remade as Manithan in Tamil starring Udhayanidhi Stalin. A sequel, Jolly LLB 2 was released in February 2017, and made almost Rs 200 crore at the box office.
