Actress Manisha Koirala, a cancer survivor, is reportedly collaborating with another cancer survivor for a book. According to Mumbai Mirror, Manisha had been toying with the idea of writing about her experience for a while now, focusing more on how she battled the disease as opposed to an autobiography about her life.
“I want to teach people how to live a holistic life. I’m obsessed with being healthy, constantly reading, researching and sharing my knowledge with others. My book will not be an autobiography but my reflections on life and films. When I was unwell I made lots of notes,” she told Mirror early this year.
The actress is currently in talks with a multinational publishing house for her book, but has refused to reveal any details about it.
A popular actress from Kathmandu, Manisha was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2012 and underwent surgery later that year. After fighting cancer, she has actively tried spreading the awareness about the disease.

Incidentally, the actress will be playing Nargis Dutt in Sanjay Dutt’s mother in his biopic. Nargis Dutt, too, suffered from cancer and eventually succumbed to the disease. She also has Dear Maya, a film about finding hope. “Basically the whole concept of finding love and hope when everything is taken away from you. The idea that no matter how much hatred comes your way or heartbreak you suffer, you should not lose hope because you never know what happens next in life – that struck a chord with me. It is a beautiful film,” she said about the film in a recent interview with Scroll.
