Actor Prashanth’s next will be an action thriller. According to reports, the film has been titled Johnny.
Prashanth’s father, actor and producer Thiagarajan, confirmed the the news with Deccan Chronicle :
“Debutant director Vetriselvan, who previously assisted Jeeva Shankar, has been brought on board to wield the megaphone. Mumbai girl Ananya Soni, who has also bagged a film in Telugu, will be debuting opposite Prashanth.”

The team has obtained permission from the makers of the 1980 film of the same name to use the title.
Prashant will also make his Bollywood comeback with the remake of Vijay Antony’s Naan. “Impressed with Jeeva Shankar’s Naan, I bought its Hindi remake rights from Vijay Antony. We became close friends, and later he even offered me a powerful role of a political kingmaker in Yaman,” Thiagarajan said.
The shooting for the remake has already begun. The team hasn’t yet finalised a female lead for the film.
