Akshay Kumar will be one of the judges on the fifth edition of The Great Indian Laughter Challenge, a standup comedy face-off. The actor, who has starred in a number of comedies himself, took to Twitter to announce the news.

The Great Indian Laughter Challenge, aired on Star One initially, began in 2005 and has been judged as one of the most successful standup comedy based Indian shows. The judges were Shekhar Suman, Navjot Singh Sidhu, and Umer Sharif, with their inputs making several of the comics popular. Some of them are Kapil Sharma, Raju Srivastava, Sunil Pal, Chandan Prabhakar, and Sugandha Mishra.
Akshay Kumar, who is gearing up for the release of social drama Toilet: Ek Prem Katha releasing on August 11, is currently shooting for another film – Gold – in London. The film is a period sports drama based on the 1948 London Olympics.
