Viki Rajani of production house Next Gen Films Pvt Ltd has told the PTI that the new script demands a male lead. “I am doing Phobia 2, but this time, it’s with a male lead. The film was critically acclaimed and it made to the list of top ten films of 2016. So, we want to get someone who can pull off that kind of performance,” he said, adding, “There was no bloodshed or paranormal angle in Phobia, but it was the treatment and execution because of which people liked the film. It is not a horror film… it plays with your mind, and it will scare you. It’s a new age concept for a thriller.”

An official confirmation about the male lead is yet to be made, but Viki said that ‘a well known face’ will join the board soon.

Phobia 2 will deal with the fear of flying; the first part portrayed Radhika’s character as having a fear of public and open spaces.

Meanwhile, Radhika Apte is shooting for the Akshay Kumar-starrer Padman, in which she will be seen along with Sonam Kapoor.
