Filming Of ‘Pon Ondru Kandein’ To Begin From August

The Tamil remake of the award-winning Telugu film, Pellichoopulu, titled Pon Ondru Kandein, will go on floors in August. 

Actress Tamannaah Bhati and Vishnu Vishal, the lead pair, will take on the roles of Ritu Varma and Vijay Deverakonda from the original. According to a Deccan Chronicle report, pre-production work is currently underway, and the rest of the cast and crew will be finalised soon.

Actress Gayathrie is also reportedly a part of the project, which is directed by Senthil Veerasamy, a longtime associate of director (now producer) Gautham Menon. Veerasamy produced Rajathandhiram through his White Bucket Productions, and has a major role in Menon’s Enai Nokki Paayum Thota. 

Darbuka Siva is the composer of the film, which is bankrolled by Ondraga Entertainment.

Pellichoopulu was a new-age romantic comedy that took the Telugu box office by storm last year. Made on a budget of Rs 1.35 crores, the film went on to rake over Rs 40 crores at the box office.
