The teaser of RK Nagar, starring Vaibhav and directed by Saravanarajan, was released today. The film is touted to be a political drama and deals with the current political issues.

Towards the end of the teaser, actor Sampath says, “Actor na vote potuduvaangala? MGR aa da nee? (If you are an actor, do you think people will vote for you? Are you MGR?)” Is this a dig at Kamal Haasan? The director clarifies that that it is not aimed at any particular actor. “When the audience sees the film, they will get the context,” director Saravanarajan told Silverscreen.
The film’s title, RK Nagar, was also late chief minister Jayalaithaa’s constituency. The director said, “We have handled all the current issues in an entertaining way and have made sure it’s not preachy.”
The film bankrolled by Venkat Prabhu’s Black Ticket Company, has Sana Althaf and Anjena Kirti as female leads and Sampath in a pivotal role. The film is scheduled to release by the end of this year.
