Shooting For Dhadak Begins
The team behind the Hindi film Dhadak, a remake of 2016’s Marathi film Sairat, started shooting. Sridevi’s eldest daughter Jhanvi Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor’s younger brother Ishaan Khattar are all set to make their cinema debut in this film directed by Shashank Khaitan, who is best known for directing Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Badrinath Ki Dulhania.

Sairat, directed by Nagaraj Manjule, delved deep into caste politics and honour killing, something Bollywood seemingly appears to disassociate from. Johar, who is producing the film under his banner Dharma Productions, thinks by coming on board for this project, he is giving several opportunities to newcomers, especially considering the two lead actors hail from a cinema-working background.
Dhadak is scheduled for a July 6, 2018 release.

Ineya Paired Opposite Mammootty In New Film, Says She’s Thrilled

Speaking to The Times of India, Ineya said:
“I was too excited in the first few days, I guess. But things started falling into place soon, thanks to his guidance and tips. He was very supportive and while we were doing a lengthy, emotional scene, Mammukka asked the cameraman to take a close up shot of mine. It was a sequence in which our characters were having an argument. He even took the mike from Sarath and directed the scene himself.”
The age-difference between the two co-stars appears to be of no hindrance, considering they’ve done a film together in past – Puthan Panam that released last year albeit they weren’t paired up.
S Ve Shekhar Claims Mersal Suffered Losses During Its Diwali Release
Actor, playwright, and member of the BJP, S Ve Shekhar claims that Mersal, starring Vijay, did not do well at the box-office despite records claiming it did. He reportedly mentioned “illogical costs” that producers were forced to compensate for.
He says:
“I have heard that Mersal has suffered a loss of Rs 60 crore. All the issues are over. The actor has received money. The director, who received Rs 3 crore in the last film has now got Rs 13 crore. If a director gets Rs 3 crore, he should get Rs 5 crore in the next film. How did he get Rs 13 crore? There should be some reason for the expenses spent on a film.”
Reportedly, producer Suresh Kamatchi and director Praveen Gandhi have made similar claims on Mersal.
