Kannada actor Subramanya has allegedly raped a 23-year-old woman after feeding her a soft drink that contained some drugs.
According to a Deccan Chronicle report, the woman filed an FIR stating that her and Subramanya’s family had agreed on their marriage. The actor postponed the marriage owing to the release of his film Hombanna. The report adds that he had allegedly threatened that he would throw acid on her if she tried to marry anyone else.

Her FIR further reports that on November 1, under the pretext of taking her to his sister’s house for a party, the actor took her to his room and offered her a soft drink, following which she fell unconscious and had realised that she had been raped. Days later, the actor allegedly told her that he cannot marry her as she is poor, and that he can only marry a woman who can invest Rs 20 lakhs in his movie.
According to The News Minute, an FIR has been registered under sections 376 (rape) and 503 (criminal intimidation). The Basavanagudi Police are investigating the case and are currently trying to apprehend Subramanya, who is absconding.
