Deepika Padukone may be roped in to play the leading lady for Rajinikanth in Pa Ranjith’s next movie. The actress had earlier worked with Rajinikanth in Soundarya’s directorial Kochadaiyaan in 2014.
A spokesperson told Silverscreen, “It’s too early to talk about the casting. We will make an official announcement once it is confirmed.”

Earlier, Vidya Balan was rumoured to be in talks for the project.
The project, produced by Dhanush through his Wunderbar Films, will go on the floors on April 14, reports say.
Set in Mumbai, this new project is said to be a gangster film. Incidentally, Kabali, the previous collaboration between Pa Ranjith and Rajinikanth was also a gangster film.
Meanwhile, Deepika Padukone is hard at work on her third film with Sanjay Leela Bhansali – Padmavati.
