Ringing in the new year, Rana Daggubati shared the first look of his film with Prabhu Solomon Haathi Mere Saathi on social media, introducing the world to Bandev. Playing a mahout in this remake of the 1971 Hindi film, Daggubati can be seen sporting a salt-and-pepper look, seated in front of his co-star, an Asian elephant.

The film will release in Tamil, Hindi, and Telugu and will go into production this month.
Incidentally, Prabhu had directed another film that explored the relationship between an elephant and a mahout – Kumki (2012) starring Vikram Prabhu and Lakshmi Menon. In September last year, it was announced that Prabhu has started work on Kumki 2, but it isn’t clear if this project with Daggubati is the same as the sequel to his 2012 film.
Daggubati’s Baahubali co-star Anushka Shetty, too, has a new poster out of her film, Bhaagamathie. The teaser was out in late December, marking Anushka’s next big release.
