Several reports surfaced on something that Baahubali actress Tamannaah Bhatia had highlighted in an interview published on March 3 with Tamil daily Dina Thanthi. Talking about what it’s like to be an actress, especially considering the scrutiny and speculations that arose soon after Sridevi’s death, Tamannaah said that no matter what, actresses are conditioned to maintain a smile.
“I’ve been in cinema for 15 years and working hard without break. I am unable to eat what I want to, and always work hard to maintain my body and looks. Sometimes strenuous workouts and hectic schedules keep me on my toes. I envy other women who have a free lifestyle. People think actresses have fame and money, but they are not aware of the difficulties we undergo. People should understand that we are sacrificing so much for our survival,” she was quoted saying.
This particular bit from the interview was picked up by other publications, including Sify which went ahead with an opinion piece on Monday about how she’s going off on a ‘self-sympathetic rant’. The report goes on to lambast the actress for being ungrateful considering it was her personal choice to pick this field.
On Wednesday morning, Tamannaah posted a note condemning ‘yellow journalism’ and being misquoted. While we aren’t sure where her anger is coming from, a Bollywood Life report quotes a source saying that the actress had never given an interview to Dina Thanthi in the first place.
Taking to Twitter, she wrote about how it’s important to validate information and reach out to the artiste in question before publishing it.

Silverscreen tried to reach the actress for a clarification. She is currently in Madurai, shooting for Seenu Ramasamy’s Kanne Kalaimaane. She has a lot of other films in the pipeline, including the Telugu remake of the Hindi film Queen, Naa Nuvve, and Khamoshi.
