Rajinikanth will start shooting for Karthik Subbaraj’s film in Dehradun, according to reports. The actor’s daughter, Soundarya Rajnikanth’s earlier tweet on multiple roles led to the speculation that Rajinikanth might be playing multiple roles in the film. However, she clarified that she was only referring to his personal life and director Karthik Subbaraj will reveal further details on the film.

Although details about the cast and the plot of the film are yet to be revealed, it is said that the film will be produced by Sun Pictures, promoted by media baron Kalanithi Maran.

Adding to this, the director is planning to put an ensemble team for the movie. Actor Vijay Sethupathi was one of the first actors to officially come onboard after Sun Pictures announced the project. He is Karthik’s longtime associate since the director’s debut film Pizza. The buzz is that he is playing the villain in the Rajinikanth starrer.
Actor Simran is said to be the main contender for the female lead. However, an official confirmation on the same is awaited. Actress Anjali has also been reportedly brought in to play a key role in the film.
The latest reports say, Karthik Subbaraj’s regular collaborator Bobby Simha has also been roped in for the project.
Apart from this, Rajinikanth also has director Shankar’s, 2.o in his pipeline.
